The Falles (Valencian: Falles; Spanish: Fallas) is a traditional celebration held in commemoration of Saint Joseph in the city of Valencia, Spain. The term Falles refers to both the celebration and the monuments (Falla, singular; Falles, plural) burnt during the celebration. A number of towns in the Valencian Community have similar celebrations inspired by the original Falles de València celebration. The Falles festival was added to UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage of humanity list on 30 November 2016.
June 1995
My memory today takes me to June 1995.
In the Campanar garden, in the Molino del Frares, in Valencia, Spain.
That was the first Special Section Workshop that I stepped on ... There was one of the most iconic and remembered Fallas in history.
The Falla monument of "The Beatles".
After 25 years ... I still remember that moment, that place, that maquette ... Thank you, Mr. Miguel Santaeulalia, for those Fallas ... with "Alma" ...
